The town of Sidmouth is well known for it's picturesque scenery and relaxed pace of life. There are plenty of walks that can be started from Sidmouth, and the moors of Devon only a short car journey.

Sidmouth itself has much to offer and explore. It is often commented that visiting Sidmouth is like stepping back a bit in time. It has certainly succeeded in retaining it's period style while offering all the convenience of a huge range of independent shops and services.

There is a wide choice of places to eat, from high quality restaurants in hotels, to bistros and pubs. Have lunch, or just coffee and cake in the Fort Cafe in Connaught Gardens on the cliff top, then walk down Jacobs Ladder, along the under cliff pathway and onto the Esplanade to promenade with the rest of Sidmouth society! The town can also boast a local museum, a first rate theatre, a cinema and a beautiful parish church.

Situated on the Jurassic Coast, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sidmouth can be a perfect centre for many memorable days out.

The local area is studded with little jewels of villages and small towns. Lyme Regis, a centre for fossil hunting and with it's Cobb (harbour wall) made famous in the film adaptation of 'The French Lieutenant's Woman', and is only a short car ride away. The villages of Beer, Branscombe, Salcombe Regis and Otterton are real delights, and right on our doorstep! If you like antiques, then the old lace town of Honiton, or the ancient port of Topsham are waiting for you. The Cathedral city of Exeter has so much to offer the visitor, its impossible to know where to start!

If you like walking, you are spoilt for choice - the Coastal Footpath, the local moors or commons and pastoral riversides are near to hand, or a 40 minutes drive takes you to the grandeur of Dartmoor, with its iconic tors. If you are walking locally and don't want to walk the same way back, we would be happy to pick you up at a pre-arranged time and place.
